Will I receive payment for my article?

Payment for articles and opinion pieces is something I’m working towards offering because I believe in paying people for their work. And writing an article is work!! It involves research, time spent writing, editing & proofreading, and clearing copyright permission for any images used – and it all takes hours...

However, with being on issue 1 of Dream Lovers Weddings, and essentially starting my business from scratch again, I’m not in a financial position to pay just at the moment. Even while bringing in a healthy turnover as my former business Way Out Wedding, the magazine I produced under this name literally only just about broke even, even with financial injection from elsewhere within the business.  

BUT! My plan is to work writer fees into the costings so that I can pay in the future. I’m hoping that by issue 2 this will be possible. What I can do for issue 1 is offer ad space in return for the work.

Will I receive a copy of the magazine for my article?

All article contributors will receive a complimentary copy of the magazine.

Where is the magazine stocked?

With issue 1, it’s available from my website, exclusively. I’m writing to independent magazine retailers across the UK and hope to bring back good news of being stocked with them! I’m also contacting colleagues in the wedding industry to see if they’d like to be stockists of the magazine, whether that’s in-boutique or as part of their website’s shop or in their client welcome packs.
